There is no pigeonhole for the songs of Tapet. Jazz, Krautrock and French Chansons are audible for the listener. The most characteristic component of the mix is the typical Tapet sound, the personal virtuosity and the congenial charisma of the musicians.The songs are played empathetically in a flamboyant way – art music for fun. Another specialty of the band are the unusual spots that they are able to play their concerts: Construction sites, shoe-stores, hospitals, train stations and chapels.
The band Tapet is existing since 2002 and consists of Herk Röpe (composer and percussion), Evely Helbig (organ, synthesizer), Manuela Weichenrieder (Vocals, Melodika, Electronics) and Kuno Wagner (tapping Guitar, stick and bass guitar)
